ABSTRACT
England's Hertfordshire County Council is to use its first internally developed e-learning material to train thousands of end users how to use Oracle systems from May 2003. The intranet-delivered course covers the basics of using Oracle, and will be taken by 2,500 staff from the authority's recently created Children, Skills and Family department. The development of the material follows the council's participation in a pilot e-learning development course run by the Improvement and Development Agency (IDeA), a government-funded body that supports local government training, together with e-learning provider IQdos. IDeA and IQdos will run the e-learning development course monthly in London, England and elsewhere on an ad hoc basis.
