ABSTRACT
MBIA Inc., the holding company for New York bond guarantor MBIA Insurance Corp., and Financial Security Assurance Holdings Ltd., the holding company for New York bond guarantor Financial Security Assurance Inc., both reported higher net income for the first quarter 2003 compared to the same period in 2002. MBIA reported adjusted direct premiums of 243.5 million dollars in the first quarter 2003, up 57 percent from 155.4 million dollars during the same period in 2002. MBIA on May 6, 2003 posted net income of 223.3 million dollars, up 47 percent from 152.4 million dollars in 2002 first quarter.
