ABSTRACT
This article focuses on developments related to investment banking in the technology sector of the U.S. as of April 28, 2003. Microsoft Corp. decreased the costs and restrictions it places on competitors needing access to its computer code in order to ensure their products function correctly with the Windows operating system. The move follows 2002's antitrust settlement between Microsoft and the U.S. government. Separately, Microsoft launched a 250 million dollars advertising campaign to promote its Windows Server 2003 to IT managers. Ciber Inc., a Colorado-based Computer consulting company, said it plans to buy New Jersey-based rival AlphoNet Solutions Inc. for 28.8 million dollars as part of an effort to attract larger multinational customers in New Jersey and New York.
