ABSTRACT
Lebenthal & Co. has expanded into the south Florida market. Advest Inc., which acquired the New York-based municipal bond brokerage firm in 2001, on Monday converted two of its regional branch offices into part of its Lebenthal division. The two offices in Hallandale and Boca Raton, with a total of 15 sales representatives will now report directly to Lebenthal's president, Alexandra Lebenthal. The change was made largely due to regional demographics in southern Florida, where the Lebenthal brand name already has recognition among the many retired transplants from the Northeast, according to a statement released by the Hartford, Connecticut-based Advest.
