Far-infrared magneto-optical study of Hg1-xCdxTe superlattices with graded composition

Far-infrared magnetotransmission experiments were carried out on two Hg1-xCdxTe superlattices with graded composition grown by laser molecular beam epitaxy. A superlattice k·p model was used to calculate the subband structures of the superlattices. Good agreement is found between the experimental results and the theory if the valence-band offset is assumed to be small.
