Anomalous suppression of transport critical current below Bc2 (T) in oriented sintered samples of DyBa2Cu3O7

Measurements of the transport critical current density (Jct ) of textured sintered samples of DyBa2 Cu3 O7 have been made as a function of temperature in magnetic fields up to 27 T. Data with the current orthogonal to the applied field for the high Bc2 (T) (B⊥c axis) and the low Bc2 (T) (B||c axis) orientations are presented. We report the anomalous suppression of the transport critical current when current flows along the c axis at 24 T and 4.2 K, a field which is well below Bc2 (∼100 T) at this temperature.
