Phase transformations of a thin film of Ba2YCu3Ox were induced with a focused laser beam in chemical ambients. The transformations, involving superconductive and nonsuperconductive phases, are achieved rapidly and with a high degree of spatial control. They are fully reversible, and the appropriate processing parameters have been studied. These effects are interpreted within present models, which relate the superconducting properties of Ba2YCu3Ox to its oxygen content and crystalline structure.

We present a model of phase transformation kinetics at the surface of nonvolatile and volatile solids, with special consideration of finite specimen size in one dimension. For nonvolatile materials in which nucleation occurs randomly and homogeneously throughout the sample, a slowing of surface...

Kinetics of the 110 K superconducting phase formation has been studied in the Bi-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system with and without the addition of small amounts of lead. The kinetics of the phase transformation has been greatly affected by lead doping. The time required for the maximum formation of the 110 K...

A phenomenological model describing "magnetodipole" self-organization of charge carriers (the formation of so-called stripe-structures and the energy gap in the spectrum of states) was suggested to interpret the data of nonstationary nonlinear spectroscopy of high-T[sub c] superconductors. It...
