Carlos Sharpless joined the firm in March 2003, as a senior vice president and the manager of its Houston office, and Richard Acosta was hired in April 2003 as a vice president in the company's San Antonio office. Prior to joining Ramirez, Acosta was vice president of public finance at Southwestern Capital Markets Inc., where he provided investment banking, financial advisory, and underwriting services to such Texas issuers as Bexar County, San Antonio, the San Antonio Water System, and the Texas Water Development Board.
