A handy method and hardware for readout and display on a digital oscilloscope the repetitive visible emission profiles, obtained in the TJ-I tokamak with a standard linear charge-coupled detector, is presented. A detailed description of the electronics, alignment procedure, and detector calibration as well as typical profiles obtained in the TJ-I tokamak are given.
