ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). It mentions that a 2010 HUD study estimated that public housing properties of the nation faced a backlog of 26 billion dollars in required repairs. It also mentions that nation's annual appropriations for public housing capital funds declined to 1.9 billion dollars in 2013 from 2.5 billion dollars in 2010.
