ABSTRACT
U.S.-based National Federation of Municipal Analysts (NFMA) has honored four individuals and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) for contributions to the municipal market. Philip Fischer, a municipal strategist at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. in New York City, New York, was nominated to receive the NFMA's 2003 Award of Excellence. Frank Rizzo, a group managing director at Fitch Ratings Inc. in New York City was nominated to receive the association's Career Achievement Award for 2003. The analysts' group also bestowed meritorious service awards to Nancy Belz, a vice president and senior investment analyst at Federated Investors Inc. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Jeff Wilson, a managing director at Saybrook Capital LLC, in Redwood, California. GASB received the NFMA's 2003 Industry Contribution Award in recognition of its commitment to the advancement of governmental financial reporting.
