ABSTRACT
The article suggests that U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno's refusal to call an independent counsel to investigate illegal fund-raising activities of U.S. Vice President Al Gore for the 2000 presidential election. The suggestion was made through a fictitious letter allegedly signed by Gore and dated November 29, 1997. The letter exposed the inappropriateness in inviting Reno to Thanksgiving dinner hosted by the Gore family. With reluctance, Reno showed up at the dinner and would later stopped by Gore's son and wife, Tipper.
