Assesses the effect of the day of ovum retrieval on outcome in an in vitro fertilization (IVF) program scheduled for a weekday-only ovum retrievals. Cycle distribution shows there was no difference between the three groups with respect to failed oocyte retrieval or failed fertilization; Comparison of diagnosis in the groups; Effect of retrieval day on IVF outcome parameters.

BACKGROUND: The aim of this study is to report a large series of patients (n = 1223) at risk of developing ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS) who underwent coasting. METHODS: Coasting started when the leading follicle reached 16 mm and continued until the estradiol (E2) level fell to 3000...

BACKGROUND: Implantation failure is the main limiting factor for success of IVF. Even when transfer techniques are carried out extremely carefully, embryo transfer may produce an endometrial and cervical reaction that may result in an inflammatory response and impaired implantation. BACKGROUND: Several studies have investigated seasonal variations during IVF. Their results are contradictory, especially concerning fertilization and pregnancy rates. The aim of the present study was to re-evaluate these parameters using a large number of IVF cycles. METHODS: A total of 7368...

: BACKGROUND Somatic cell nuclear transfer (SCNT) involves the transfer of somatic cell nuclei into enucleated oocytes. Because human in vivo matured oocytes are scarcely available, we investigated whether in vitro matured (IVM) germinal vesicle (GV) oocytes could also support preimplantation...

This study investigated the combination of an unstimulated IVF cycle with in-vitro maturation (IVM) of additional immature cumulus--oocyte--complexes (COC) from the same cycle collected at the same time as the spontaneous preovulatory follicle. This could potentially improve rates of embryo...
