ABSTRACT
Researches about institutional evaluation occur in Brazil since the 80s, but has intensified from the 90 years. During this period, the different educational policies implemented several programs to monitor and evaluate higher education and thus justify the spending in this area, while providing more qualified professionals to the market. The present research intends to compare teachers' satisfaction with the AAI of UFSM in 2001 and 2011 researches. The methodology used in this research was a descriptive study, which was administered one questionnaire in a sample of 217 teachers. The data were analyzed with the help of SPSS software to perform descriptive statistics and compare the means with t test. The main results show that comparing the researchers conducted in 2001 and 2011, it was noted that the 45 items surveyed, 49% maintained the same level of satisfaction, improved 4% and 47% have a lower satisfaction. It is concluded that the main reasons for a decline in the Institutional Self Evaluation is the workload of teachers who do not have time to devote to the process of AAI, and the lack of concrete results of the process, since there is no clear relationship between demands encountered and actions taken by the institution in order to improve them.
