ABSTRACT
The study revolves around studying the post IPO operating performance of Indian banks. Over the past few years India has been witnessing a steep increase in IPO's. In an emerging country like India, the role of the banking sector is indispensable and is hence gaining a lot of importance. Hence, the study mainly focuses on the performance of the banks post the IPO more importantly trying to discern whether underpricing plays an important role in bank IPO performance. The result of the study states that although the banks register a decline post the performance, no significant conclusion can be drawn over underpricing being a crucial factor in determining their operating performance post the IPO.
