ABSTRACT
In this study, the effects of steam injection technology on performance parameters and NOx emissions of a gas turbine for various elevations have been investigated by using of a turboprop engine. The steam injection is a common method for improving the performance parameters and reducing the NOx emissions in turboprop engines. A computer code has been developed for the gas turbine optimization. This program is capable of simulating the steam injection process. The process of steam injection has been analysed based on a thermodynamic cycle. The results show that the Thrust Specific Fuel Consumption(TSFC) and NOx emissions have been decrease by using of steam injection technology. Also, the thermal efficiency and thrust coefficient have been improved. The results have been verified successfully by available experimental data.
