July 2014
Bass Player;Jul2014, Vol. 25 Issue 7, p58
The article discusses the importance of built-in DI on amplifiers designed for bass guitar. It describes the functions of DIs which include lowering of an instrument's output impedance, converting an instrument or line-level signal to mic level, and converting an unbalanced instrument output to balanced. It states that a DI makes the high-impedance output of a bass better suited to running a long cable and makes an appropriate signal for input into a mixer.
