ABSTRACT
Amiloidosis is reported in a common shelduck (Tadorna tadorna) and in a white swan (Cygnus olor). Histologically, eosinophilic material suggestive of amyloid was predominantly observed in the basal membrane of the renal glomeruli, tubules and in the liver. The Congo red special stain with and without treatment by potassium permanganate confirmed the positivity for amyloid AA.
