ABSTRACT
Neil Chandler is the chief technology officer (CTO) at Sequence, the property business of Royal & Sun Alliance PLC. He joined consulting firm Anderson Consulting LLP as a management consultant. As a developer in its technology practice, Chandler had the opportunity to work on a number of projects all over Europe, developing applications, writing code and testing new systems. After seven years with the firm, Chandler joined the economy consulting group Scient. He spent a year as Scient's head of customer relationship management (CRM) before the company shut down because of bankruptcy. From Scient, Chandler joined Sequence as CTO. One of his first tasks was to roll out a new CRM application to the company's 360 branches. The firm wanted to develop long-term relationships with customers, generating revenue from selling financial services, to augment its traditional commission on property sales. Chandler believes that his next job will be as a CIO at a larger company. INSET: Career advice.
