ABSTRACT
Reports that a case-control study fails to show a link between suicidal behavior and the gene that codes for the rate-limiting enzyme in the metabolic pathway of serotonin. Analysis of tryptophan hydroxylase gene in people who had serious suicide attempts; Low serotonin levels found in suicidal patients as a result from abnormalities in other genes related to serotonin metabolism.
