ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the roles and responsibilities of family elders in Islam. Topics discussed include the refrain of elders from criticizing or directly correcting their political leaders, the leadership structure in an Islamic society, and the accountability of elders to God. The rights of elderly parents with regard to control of their married children and the rearing of their grandchildren are mentioned.
