ABSTRACT
Cardiovascular diseases have risk factors and high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, obesity and physical activity level. The objective was to evaluate the prevalence of risk factors in individuals participating in a project Interdisciplinary University Extension. It was a cross-sectional study in which data were collected during the conduct of university extension activities (Extension Project entitled "Health Effort") held in the first half of 2013 in Presidente Prudente, SP. There were 126 individuals evaluated as being risk factors presented overweight and abdominal obesity. Results permitted to conclude that the level of physical activity among participants who considered themselves as assets, not being sufficient to prevent that these risk factors.
