ABSTRACT
The paper aimed to assess the oral health status related quality of life of 95 elderly aged 60 years and above. The mean age of the participants was 67.75 (SD=6.59) years and 70.5 per cent of the participants were male. Oral examination was performed according to WHO criteria (1997) and perceived oral health was assessed using Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index (GOHAI). The mean GOHAI score was 30.176±0.88. The GOHAI final score was considered low, indicating a low self-perception by the elderly of Indian sample.
