ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Japanese government has decided to reduce South Korea's relevance in dealing with the two countries' common foe, North Korea. Japan has announced that it would hold unofficial talks with North Korea in the Chinese border city of Shenyang. The meeting took place on March 3, 2014 to focus on the return of remains of more than 21,000 Japanese nationals who perished toward the end of World War II.
