ABSTRACT
The article discusses spot prices for styrene monomer. Although prices fell below $1,600 per ton on February 12, 2014, they subsequently recovered to that level. Demand from buyers is said to have somewhat offset the impact on prices of rising inventories in eastern China. Scheduled maintenance during February-April of 2014 on styrene-monomer plants in China is expected to constrict supplies.
