ABSTRACT
Patients with frequent episodic and chronic migraine, often complicated by medication abuse, are difficult to treat. The aim of the present work was to assess the efficacy and safety of Topalepsin (topiramate) in the preventive treatment of migraine. A total of 30 patients with frequent episodic and chronic migraine were treated. Patients received Topalepsin (topiramate, 100 mg/day) for six months. After treatment, patients showed significant reductions in the number of days with headache, the number of migraine attacks and their durations, the severity of concomitant symptoms, and the quantity of analgesics taken.
