ABSTRACT
The article discusses the relationship between the U.S. history student, history professor and the history textbook. An overview of what is referred to as the self-study, or introspective, examination of the methodology of teaching university level history is provided. The electronic resources for history textbooks, including the e-textbook, are discussed. An overview of the cost of history textbooks is provided.
