ABSTRACT
The article reports on the serious crisis faced by the coal industry in Poland. It mentions that market conditions for the industry worsened in 2012-2013 as cheap imports applied downward pressure on the prices of coal. It states that the government has not determined if it should apportion additional support for the coal mines to buy equipment or modernize, and for new mines construction.
