Reports on General Motors' (GM) voluntary recall of 678,000 Suburbans and minivans after a story by NBC affiliate KBJR-TV in Minnesota about a defect in one of the vehicles. 1985-1991 Chevrolet Astro and GMC Safari minivans as the units affected by the safety-related recall; GM's receipt of many calls from people who had experienced seat problems after the NBC story.
