The article reports on the Japanese advertising agency, Hakuhodo Inc.'s appointment of Takashi Shoji, as president of the firm. The company also relinquished 49 per cent equity in the joint venture, McCann-Erickson Hakuhodo. According to company insiders, Shoji is the first advertising professional to head Hakuhodo since 1975. It has also been reported that the appointment and the joint venture development will not change the operations or directions of the agency.
