ABSTRACT
Discusses how Shannon Faulkner is up against two formidable obstacles in her quest to become the first woman to enroll at The Citadel: 151 years of Southern military tradition and the Supreme Court. Faulkner was accepted to attend the military college in 1992, but her acceptance was later revoked when the academy learned she was female. Issuance of stay barring her from the school issued by Chief Justice William Rehnquist.
