ABSTRACT
In this article the author offers his opinions on the obligation that addiction professionals have to help recovering addicts learn to be happy. In the article he discusses research which has investigated several factors, including optimism, gratitude and forgiveness, which have been found to be common denominators in happiness. Strategies which the author feels addiction professionals can use to help clients become happy are examined.
