ABSTRACT
The article presents the American Society of Health System Pharmacists (ASHP) guidelines on compounded sterile preparations (CSP) as of January 2014. The guidelines are reportedly aimed to help compounding personnel prepare high quality CSPs and lessen harm potential to patients and consequences for personnel. The article notes that guideline users are cautioned on the currency of the provided information, and are urged to consult current editions of original sources.
