ABSTRACT
The research was carried out at the Lithuanian research center of agriculture and forestry Institute of Horticulture in 2011 and 2012. The aim of this study was to evaluate the spread of Alternaria leaf blight according to iMETOS®sm prediction model at different agro-ecological conditions in Kaunas and Pasvalys districts. The evaluation of Alternaria iMETOS®sm forecasting model (TomCast Alternaria model for Carrots) data in 2012 indicated that in different agro-ecological regions the conditions for infection were unequal. In 2011 favorable conditions for Alternaria leaf blight spread were 25 days and Pasvalys -- 39, accordingly in 2012 Kaunas district -- 31 day and in Pasvalys district -- 6 days, when DSV measure were reached. Applying iMETOS®sm Alternaria forecasting model for carrot protection against diseases it allows to optimize the usage of fungicides, apply fungicides precisely and only when needed, reduce consumption of fungicides and control A. dauci infection more efficiently.
