Stocks Close Narrowly Lower

1 The market held near highs but edged lower as it began another holiday-shortened week. The Nasdaq eased 0.1%, and the S&P 500 was barely lower. The Dow rose 0.2%. Volume increased. Auto and consumer stocks were relatively stronger, while many techs lagged. The 10-year Treasury yield slipped 3 basis points to 2.97%.
