ABSTRACT
Reports that although some administration economists worry that Alan Greenspan's penchant for fighting inflation could stifle economic recovery, the White House is considered unlikely to break its truce with the Federal Reserve chairman. Instead, Greenspan will be subjected to soft-sell lobbying aimed at persuading him to hold off on tightening interest rates until the economy shows more signs of generating bona fide strength.
