ABSTRACT
Reports that chemists at Yale University have discovered a `window' in buckminsterfullerenes, or buckyballs, the all-carbon molecules shaped like soccer balls. By forcing an atom of neon through the window opening, a team led by chemist Martin Saunders has created the first neon compound ever known. Research details and comments by Saunders.
