ABSTRACT
This article reports on the appointment of Roger Ailes as principal of New York City-based media buying company Media Inc. According to Ailes, his role will provide strategic perspective necessary to compete with agencies and other independent media buyers. He will also try to position the venture to the three potential partners. Media Inc. has already won $30 million in buying assignments since its formation last January 1993 and expects to hit $50 million by the year end. The unbundling of media and creative assignments by blue chip advertisers is a key reason why the cooperative makes sense.
