ABSTRACT
States Japan Air System Flight 451, a DC-9-41 transport registration J-8448, crashed on landing on April 18 at Hanamaki Airport, Japan, in high crosswinds. The copilot lost control of the plane after the right wingtip hit the runway and the right landing gear collapsed, causing minor injuries to 19 and severely injuring the commander, Capt. Koyo Ohara.
