ABSTRACT
Reports that Maryland Delegate Sheila Ellis Hixson has introduced a bill calling for a new state motto: `fondata per tolleranza religiosa,' which is an Italian saying for `founded for religious tolerance.' The present motto: `fatti maschii, parole femine,' has angered many women in Maryland because it means `manly deeds, womanly words.'
