ABSTRACT
The article considers the submission of motion pictures as candidates for the Golden Globe awards. A decision facing motion picture producers and studios on whether to nominate films as candidates for comedy or drama awards if those films contain elements of both genres is examined. The process through which the eligibility committee of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) places motion pictures in either category is considered.
