Reports that Dottie Green was captain of her high-school softball team before signing up in 1943 with the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. Green played four seasons with the Rockford, Ill., Peaches, immortalized in the hit movie, `A League of Their Own.' She was a star catcher; The movie's star character was only loosely based on Green; Green died last week at age 71.
