ABSTRACT

Reports that Monnie Bratcher, 84, the last resident of Boz, Texas (former population: 200), is standing firmly in the path of the $8.3 billion superconducting super collider. The state began eviction proceedings last week against Bratcher, who refuses to leave her home of 56 years. She has sold her house and 42 acres to the state for $170,000; County sheriffs may have to remove her by force.
