Reports that 12-year-old honors student Reggie Jackson, of Camden, S.C., opened the Democratic National Convention last week with a clear version of `America the Beautiful' that brought a crowd of 25,000 to its feet. Jackson sang three songs last March to 300 people on his hometown square; The two noncable networks didn't telecast Jackson's performance.
