ABSTRACT
Reports that Erich Mielke, 84, a former chief of the secret police, will be charged this week in Berlin with a crime detailed only in the Nazi file that he murdered two policemen in 1931. Actually, he oversaw 40 years of murder, torture and mayhem in a socialist state dedicated to the people's welfare.
