ABSTRACT
The author reflects the views of retired Major General Charles W.Sweeney on the atomic bombings in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. Sweeney mentions that the exhibition of the B-29 bomber Enola Gay at Smithsonian institution, Washington D.C. focused much on Japanese casualties rather than discussing the role of bombing's in ending conflict with Japan. Sweeny justifies that the U.S. President Harry Truman's decision for atomic missions on Japan was apt according to the circumstances. INSET: Maj. Gen. Charles W. Sweeney.
