Retail sales soften slightly

Same-store sales fell 0.8% in the week ended Nov. 9, Redbook said. Year-over-year comps rose 3.3%, less than expected and down from the prior week's 3.8%. That's despite stores already beginning to attract customers for holiday sales well ahead of Black Friday.
