1 The S&P 500 and the Dow ended down 0.2% after paring early losses. The S&P picked up its 5th distribution day. The Nasdaq was flat. Two Federal Reserve officials warned anew that stimulus reduction could begin soon, and small-business confidence slipped. The 10-year Treasury yield rose 2 basis points to 2.77%. Oil and gold fell.
