Technology: Jaron Lanier Discusses Big Data at NYPL

The article discusses the unfortunate impact of correlative algorithms on people's lives according to author and computer science pioneer Jaron Lanier during the New York Public Library (NYPL) event on October 10, 2013. Particular focus is given to the effect of the Internet on providing power to institutions, such as the corporations, banks and government agencies, to pool and analyze information. The article says that libraries is the last bastion of intellectual privacy in the modern times.
