ABSTRACT
SIR John Major's moan that a privately educated elite still runs Britain raises eyebrows among former colleagues. 'Could this be the same John Major who sent his children to a very expensive private school?' asks one. James and Elizabeth Major were educated at Kimbolton School, founded in the 16th century at Kimbolton Castle - the former seat of the Duke of Manchester - where boarding fees are £22,215 a year. Oh yes!
